Instatel

Desk to Desk Communication

Instatel is a desk-to-desk communication program for sending instant messages across a  network. Instatel does not require any kind of server component. When users launch Instatel, they become part of the community they are assigned to. With one button or keyboard click, users reply back with a customized message.

Simple and efficient users now reach anyone in their community immediately. They can chat with each other, coordinate meetings and communicate even if someone is on the phone. In addition, it takes the burden off existing email system as, typically, Instatel messages do not need to be stored.

For the busy executive and his/her assistant, Instatel improves the workflow by allowing the secretary to remain in communication with his/her boss even when he/she is on the phone. For example Amy Executive is on the phone and has 2 more lines to handle; instead of interrupting the ongoing conversation, the secretary sends an Instatel message instructing Amy who is on the phone. Amy can then instruct the secretary, with one button or keyboard click, the secretary on how to handle the call.

Message Bar

The message bar is a collection of message buttons that can be fully customized. Each button has a caption, an associated message and a color. Users can change any of those attributes at will. When a message button is clicked, the associated message is sent to the user displayed in the list.

Status

Users can either be Available or Away from Desk. When users set the status to Away from Desk, the sender of the message is notified that the recipient is away from the desk.

Reply

Users use the Reply feature to store messages used over and over again.

Broadcast

The Broadcast feature is used to send the same message to multiple or all Instatel users in the community.
